Sesc RJ Flamengo plays the classic match against Osasco in Tijuca

Sesc RJ Flamengo faces a battle ahead in its quest to maintain its lead in the Women's Superliga. Coach Bernardinho's team will face Osasco São Cristóvão Saúde this Tuesday (January 27.01th) at 21 PM at the Tijuca Tennis Club, with live broadcast on SporTV2 and VBTV, in what is considered the biggest classic in Brazilian volleyball. Currently on the rise after victories over Dentil Praia Clube (3-1) in the Superliga and Paulistano Barueri (3-0) in the Copa Brasil quarterfinals, Flamengo has accumulated 37 points and prioritizes continuing its upward trajectory. In the first round, the Rio de Janeiro team prevailed in straight sets against their rival, currently in fourth place, with 30 points.
"Facing Osasco is always a challenge and, at the same time, a motivation, even more so at home, with our fans. It's a classic match that has a special energy. Our preparation was quite intense, as usual, regardless of the opponent. We came from a good performance in the Brazilian Cup, but there are always adjustments to be made to reach our best for the playoffs. I hope we can play with clarity and the same unity as in the last matches," said middle blocker Lorena.
Sesc RJ Flamengo has some standout individual players in the Superliga statistics. American outside hitter Simone Lee is the competition's top scorer with 283 points and is the second-highest scorer in serves, with 16 aces. Outside hitter Karina has the seventh-best reception, with 62,4% efficiency, while Lorena is 11th in blocking, with 35 points.
Sesc RJ Flamengo reached the top of the podium in the national competition in the 1997/1998 and 1999/2000 seasons (both in Curitiba), 2005/2006, 2006/2007, 2007/2008, 2008/2009, 2010/2011, 2012/2013, 2013/2014, 2014/2015, 2015/2016 and 2016/2017 (in Rio de Janeiro).
The 2025/2026 Superliga features 12 teams, which will face each other in a home-and-away format. The quarterfinals will feature the top eight teams from the qualifying phase in a best-of-three playoff. The semifinals will also be best-of-three, while the final will be a single-game series.
