In a duel of very different styles this Sunday afternoon (26), Flamengo and Fluminense drew 2-2 in the first leg of the quarterfinals of the Brazilian Women's Under-20 Championship. Anna Luiza and Brendha scored goals for Mais Querido at the Marcelo Vieira Stadium. Now, the team led by Filipe Torres needs a simple victory to secure its place in the semifinals.
The game
From the beginning, Flamengo demonstrated its potential, starring in the ball against the goalkeeper with a shot from front-runner Brenda behind a brilliant shot from Anna Luiza. After 20 minutes, while playing with a stationary balloon, Sofía stood up alone and the balloon said at the post. Despite their clear dominance, Flamengo conceded a counterattack to Fluminense in the 29th minute. In his rival's first attack, Kaline made a defensive error and opened the scoreboard.
The goal did not discourage the Flamengo women's team, which maintained its purpose and equalized in the 36th minute: Thaina made a mistake when pulling out the ball, and Anna Luiza, attentive, saw the robot and placed it in the squad. In the following minutes, Isabela Nunes achieved perfection, and Brendha scored a header without problems: 2-1. Before resting, Tainara equalized the score after a rebound: 2-2.
During the flight party, the exciting encounter was fragmented and filled with faults. Due to the intense heat, the intensity diminished and few scoring opportunities were created. On one occasion, Isabela Nunes returned to center the area and the balloon went wide. In the last moments, Ana Papel, who came in as a substitute and played very well, tried a balloon match, but was unsuccessful: 2-2, leaving the stage open for a Fla-Flu derby in Gávea.
