The game
In the first moments of the party, Cruzeiro was immediately arrested, but Flamengo quickly imposed his dominance and opened the marker after four minutes. After a corner serve, Léo Ortiz headed the ball against the wide, which fell to Villarreal. The former attempted a pass, but he made a mistake, which allowed Pedro to intercept it. The number 9 lost his marker and put the ball on the right corner, surpassing Cássio, to put Flamengo ahead: 1-0. It was goal number 100 for the defender at the Maracaná with Flamengo's sacred shirt.
In the next minute, just after Cruzeiro's initial serve, Pedro made a sliding entry, Arrascaeta entered the area at full speed, dribbled past Cássio and fired the goal. Fabrício Bruno was often in the goal line to avoid Flamengo's second goal.
Throughout the party, Cruzeiro tried to attack between countries, but Flamengo's defense was well organized and kept away from danger. After 30 minutes, the referee initially showed the red card to Matheus Henrique for touching the balloon with his hand in an entry with Cebolinha for the band outside the field. However, after the VAR review, Flavio Rodrigues annulled the expulsion.
In the final stretch of the first half, Flamengo launched a counterattack with Arrascaeta, which was defeated by the defenders and left Cebolinha's ball on the left. Cebolinha attempted a shot, but the defense blocked it. Paquetá took advantage of the rebound and tried a Chilean shot from the edge of the area, but the ball came close to the post. Flamengo went to rest with a minimum profit.
The team always returned for the second half without changes. In his first good counterattack in minute six, Arrascaeta received a large pass from Paquetá, entered the area by left and fired with power. Cássio deflected the ball, which he said at the post before leaving the corner. In the next game, Arrascaeta found a corner in the area, Cruzeiro's defense dumped him and Pulgar shot in the first place with a precious shot in the corner. Cássio, once again, saved the Minas Gerais team.
Coach Leonardo Jardim made a change in the team around the 20th minute. Samuel Lino entered for Cebolinha. The time passed and Flamengo continued to dominate the party, seeking vertical plays in attack. Just before the water break, Varela and Carrascal will enter via Royal and Paquetá, respectively.
In the 38th minute, Pedro received the balloon at the edge of the area and shot. The balloon deviated and Matheus Cunha hit the balloon. The former Flamengo porter entered the field replacing Cássio, who retired injured.

In the final minutes, when Cruzeiro pressed with more strength in attack seeking a draw, Flamengo was lethal and sold the victory in the last minute of the year against Carrascal. Samuel Lino recovered the balloon in the center of the field and said a great pass to the Colombian, who was running at full speed. When he reached the area, he delicately placed the balloon above the porter, securing a 2-0 victory to the delight of the Flemish fans. With this result, the "Mais Querido" was temporarily placed among the first four of the Brazilian Championship.
