On March 21st, the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination is celebrated. As part of this commitment, Flamengo will carry out an important movement against racism at the Maracaná stadium on July 19th, minutes before the match between Flamengo and Remo, with the participation of the players and all Flamengo fans.
For Flamengo, the fight against racism goes beyond an institutional stance: it is a club policy, stipulated in its statutes and reflected in its daily practices.
Flamengo and its athletes made a call to the Nation to decide against racism. At Maracaná, in the minutes before the start of the party, the stadium will be the scene of a movement. Everyone stands on their feet, reproducing the gesture adopted by referees in cases of racial discrimination: arms crossed at chest height, with open palms. More than an act, it will be a message of the strength of the Nation, in a solo movement, combating harm.
