FlaRemo returned to the top of the podium. This Sunday (1), on the traditional field of the University of São Paulo, Flamengo returned to win the Brazilian Short Boat Championship and achieved its eighth consecutive title in the competition, a hegemony it has maintained since 2019.
The weekend of triumphs began on Saturday, when Flamengo secured the classification of 26 athletes for the Brazilian national teams in 2026. Of the 37 rowers who traveled to São Paulo, 26 secured their place, a figure that could increase, as the Remo Costero competitions are scheduled for April. On Sunday, he won 14 medals in 13 events: five golds, five silvers and four bronzes. A result worthy of a team that has not lost the Brazilian Rowing Championship in eight seasons.
While at the head of the department for 71 days, technician Mauro de Oliveira highlighted the importance of planning and internal alignment for the success achieved in the capital of São Paulo.
The victory of the Clube de Regatas do Flamengo in São Paulo reinforces the solidity of structured and coordinated work. Since taking over the department, we have organized a plan based on scientific training models, with clear periodization, load control and constant power development. In a short time, we managed to guide and methodologically the process. Another fundamental point was the commitment of the athletes. Hubo commitment, openness to dialogue and maturity to understand the changes implemented. Transparency in communication between the technical team and athletes was decisive in consolidating trust and aligning expectations. The victories achieved throughout the competition reflect this collective work. Flamengo achieved victory in the Brazilian Championship, demonstrating that the organization, the method and the unity make the difference in decisive moments. We continue working to further strengthen the project and maintain Flamengo as a protagonist in national rowing,” he concluded.
