On August 2, 2025, Jorge Carrascal signed as a reinforcement for Flamengo, beginning his first experience in Brazilian football. Since then, the Colombian attacking midfielder has established himself as one of the good options in the Flamengo squad.
Throughout that first year, Carrascal participated in winning the CONMEBOL Libertadores, the Brazilian Championship, the Carioca Championship, the FIFA Derby of the Americas, and the FIFA Challenger Cup.
His debut in the Flamengo jersey took place on August 13, 2025, in a 1-0 victory over Internacional in the round of 16 of the CONMEBOL Libertadores. His first goal came in his fifth game, on September 21, in a 1-1 draw with Vasco, in the 24th round of the Brazilian Championship. On that occasion, he scored in the 11th minute of the first half.
Since then, Carrascal has played 53 games for Flamengo, scoring five goals and providing nine assists. In the 2026 season, he increased his participation in the team and has already played 29 games, scoring three goals and contributing four assists.
Born in Cartagena, the midfielder is the eighth Colombian player to wear the jersey, succeeding Borja, Armero, Cuéllar, Berrío, Marlos Moreno, Uribe and Richard Ríos.
Discovered by Millonarios of Colombia, Carrascal built his career in different footballing centers around the world before arriving at Flamengo. The midfielder played for Sevilla, Karpaty, River Plate, CSKA Moscow, and Dynamo Moscow, where he had been playing since the 2021/22 season. For the Colombian National Team, he has 24 appearances and two goals. The player was runner-up in the 2024 Copa América and played in the last edition of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
