PRESENTATION
The Education Department was created in 2019 within the Historical Heritage Department of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo. The purpose of this program is to develop, through policies and pedagogical tools, the club's identity and history, considering the diverse social contexts of Rio de Janeiro and Brazil. Within the scope of museum education, the Flamengo Museum's Education Department seeks to engage with common curricular components, as well as social issues, culture, sports, and other topics—with accessibility as its guiding principle.
MISSION
Communicate the history of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo, reflecting the club's own identity through the transformations of the country and the city, using sports as a pedagogical tool to broaden dialogue with society. Promote sports and the use of a wide range of cultural resources.
VISION
To guide the Flamengo Regatta Club as a cultural institution in the city of Rio de Janeiro, providing educational activities to a wide range of audiences. Promote inclusion and accessibility as an integrative aspect. Be an agent of social transformation within the museum education landscape.
VALUES
Encourage collaborative knowledge building; promote reflection and debate on social issues, fostering respect and ethics; ensure inclusion and democratization of access to culture, prioritizing process transparency and institutional self-criticism.
EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS
Vulture Trail
This program is aimed at nonprofit institutions, most of which benefit from transportation and food assistance. Trilha do Urubu visits are divided into two categories: Spontaneous and Invited. The institution can choose up to three macro-themes to be explored during the visit: Media, Historical Context, Olympic Sports, Idols, and Languages, offering a personalized visit tailored to the public's needs.
Time Runs in the Eye
Designed for internal audiences, this line was created to foster a sense of belonging and generate engagement through the historical narrative of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo. Its intended audience is comprised of Club employees and athletes.
Flight of the Vulture
Based on the perception that museum education can (and should) extend beyond the museum walls, we created "Voo do Vulture." This program involves educational initiatives across the city of Rio de Janeiro, with athletes from the club, social projects, and/or partner schools, through cultural itineraries, training programs, and various workshops.
Many Pounds Have Already Weighed
A program designed to meet the demands of technical visits, the "Muita Libra Já Pestou" program welcomes institutions dedicated to preserving memory, as well as partner companies, and undergraduate and graduate classes.
*The visit programs presented have the possibility of being mediated in Libras/IS (on weekdays).
TRANSPORTATION DRAW FOR THE URUBU TRAIL:
Every two months, the Flamengo Museum's Education Department holds a raffle for transportation for the Trilha do Urubu program, which consists of a guided visit to the Flamengo Regatta Club's headquarters.
Raffle Rules
1. Validity: until July 10th (or reaching the subscriber limit)
2. How to participate:
2.1 Only employees of public school institutions located in the Metropolitan Region of the state of Rio de Janeiro may participate in the draw.
2.2 To participate, the interested party must:
a) Fill out the interest form available on this page, at the end of the participation rules.
b) Be available to participate in the meeting in person.
c) Wait for the Education Department to contact you by email confirming the location and time of the meeting.
3. Award:
3.1 Twenty schools will be selected, each with a bus that will be drawn in person on the day of the meeting. Failure to attend the meeting will result in disqualification.
3.2 Winners will choose a date based on the Educational Program's schedule. Transportation must be used within the following two months, with a limit of ten reservations per month.
3.3 The prize is individual and non-transferable and CANNOT be exchanged for another product/prize or converted into cash.
4. General Provisions:
4.1 Participation by students or guardians who do not have an employment relationship with the educational institution is prohibited.
4.2 Mere participation in this action constitutes acceptance of the terms and conditions set out in these Regulations.
4.3 Educativo reserves the right to stop registrations once the maximum number of registrants is reached.
