In the fifth edition of the New Basketball Brazil (NBB), won by Flamengo, Marquinhos was the MVP, that is, the best player of the competition. Last Thursday night (January 23.01), he returned to the court with the Sacred Mantle after almost eight months without playing due to bone edema in his tibia. In his return, against Goiânia, the wing scored four points and grabbed three rebounds.
"I'm very happy. After a long period without playing, seeing friends again and being on the court with my teammates was really nice. It was a great feeling. I hope to improve with each game and I want to help the team win more games," said Marquinhos.
In just his second game of 2014, Marquinhos will face a major challenge. After all, this Saturday (January 25.01th), at noon, at the Nilson Nelson Gymnasium, the biggest Brazilian basketball classic will take place: Brasília vs. Flamengo. The forward is already excited for the match.
"I'm feeling good and very confident in our team. Despite our opponent's good form, we believe we can win. It would be an important victory to stay in the lead and have an advantage, down the line, in the playoffs," he said.
