Undefeated and consistent. With another strong performance, the Adult basketball team secured another victory in the New Basketball Brazil (NBB), a competition they lead after 17 games played. This time, on Thursday night (January 23.01), the victim was Goiânia, who were playing at home, at the Rio Vermelho gymnasium. Flamengo won the match 95-74, with highlights from top scorer Marcelinho with 22 points, Laprovittola with seven assists, and Cristiano Felício with nine rebounds.

Flamengo took to the court with Laprovittola, Gegê, Marcelinho, Olivinha, and Meyinsse, in the game that would mark the return of Marquinhos, the MVP of NBB 5, won by the Rubro-Negro. The winger was sidelined for the start of the sixth edition of the competition due to bone edema in his tibia, but had the pleasure of hearing the Rubro-Negro fans present in Goiás, most of them in the gym, chant "The MVP is back."

The first quarter started off tough for Flamengo. Murilo was the standout performer for Goiânia, who took a 24-9 lead. With a strong performance from point guard Gegê, Flamengo responded and narrowed the gap, closing the quarter at 27-21. 

In the second quarter, Flamengo's new signing, Washam, entered the court and had a strong performance. Marcelinho and Laprovittola both scored three-pointers, with the Argentine excelling in assists and steals, giving Flamengo a healthy 14-4 lead in the quarter. During this period, to the delight of the nation, Marquinhos returned to the court after nearly three months out due to injury.

After the break, Marcelinho's shooting and Meyinsse's blocking were outstanding in the third quarter and helped build Flamengo's large lead in the partial: 20-9. In the last period, Felício and Olivinha were the top scorers for Rubro-Negro, with 11 and six points, respectively, guaranteeing the team's eighth victory, still undefeated in 2014, by 95 to 74.
