After two years, Flamengo and São José face each other again in the NBB

Teams duel in São Paulo; the last match between them was in 2016

This Wednesday (14), at 19 pm, Flamengo will once again meet an old acquaintance at the Linneu de Moura Gymnasium. Against São José, the Most Beloved continues to fight for the lead in the New Basketball Brazil 11, seeking its eighth victory in the tournament.


The last game was a home victory. Hosting Vasco at Arena Carioca 1, the Red-Blacks won 90-70 thanks to a stellar collective performance and a superb performance by Marquinhos.

São José sits in tenth place in the NBB, with two wins and three losses in five matches. Playing at the Linneu de Moura Gymnasium, they recorded two losses and one win.

In retrospect, there were 34 matches played, with 25 wins for Flamengo and only nine for the São Paulo team. The last meeting was in the 2015/16 season, when Flamengo won 88-80 away from home.

"We have to be ourselves, both against São José and against Paulistano. We have to play the way we've been playing every game, doing our job, keeping our rhythm, and not letting our opponents play comfortably. So, we'll look for what we always look for on the court," said the Argentine.
