Following the huge success of its partnership with the club's football team, MOSS, the world's largest carbon credit platform, decided to expand its sponsorship to the club's basketball team.

The contract with Orgulho da Nação will last 15 months and will go far beyond brand exposure on the uniform, prioritizing digital actions and the potential penetration of the Flamengo brand among its more than 42 million fans.

The benefits include explanatory digital content featuring team stars bringing the Red-Black Nation closer to the brand, live chats between athletes and brand representatives answering fans' questions, and raffles for official team shirts for each centennial score.

“Flamengo is the largest sports marketing platform in Latin America and one of the largest in the world when it comes to football. We are  "We're very happy with the success of our partners and the recognition of the work we do together. The red-and-black fans always embrace those who embrace Flamengo, and with MOSS it's been no different. We're certain that this expanded partnership will bring even greater benefits, both for MOSS and for our basketball," celebrated Gustavo Oliveira, Vice President of Communications and Marketing.

Immediate return

In MOSS's debut week in the soccer world, the platform increased sales by an incredible 7000%. On the day of the Brazilian Super Cup title in April alone, 67 tokens were sold worldwide, equivalent to revenue of US$1 million, according to the exchange rate at the time.

Now, the company is betting on the basketball team of Mais Querido, which boasts an enviable resume: biggest champion of Rio de Janeiro, with 46 state titles, biggest Brazilian champion, with six Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB) titles, two-time champion of the Super 8 Cup, two-time continental champion, with one League of the Americas and one Champions League, and world champion, with one Intercontinental Cup.

The future holds more decisions. This Monday (10), Flamengo takes to the court for the first match of the NBB best-of-five semifinal series; in 2022, the team will compete in another Club World Cup, with no date yet set.

"This first month of partnership with the Flamengo soccer team has served to confirm what we already suspected: the club is a powerful engagement platform. MOSS's credit sales figures since we began printing them on players' socks demonstrate this," says Luis Adaime, CEO and founder of MOSS. "We're excited about this new announcement with FlaBasquete and believe that the union of the two brands will generate an even more positive impact on the environment."

The strength of @TimeFlamengo

In addition to Flamengo's official soccer-focused social media profiles, the club also has profiles that follow the club's Olympic sports. "Team Flamengo," with pages on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, is the most popular among Brazil's largest multi-sport clubs, with nearly 2 million followers across these three platforms combined—1.8 million more than the second-place team.

About MOSS and the MCO2 Token

MOSS is the world's largest carbon credit platform. With a global presence and headquarters in Brazil, it began operating in early 2020 when it launched the first carbon credit-backed token, MCO2, used to offset carbon footprints. MCO2 is audited by international institutions following a rigorous global protocol.

A carbon credit is an intangible asset equivalent to avoiding the emission of 1 ton of CO2 (carbon dioxide) in a given year through forest conservation, clean energy, biomass, and other projects. The MCO2 Token is already listed on platforms such as Mercado Bitcoin and FlowBTC, and globally on ProBit and Uniswap. In its first year of existence, MOSS and its clients have already sent over R$70 million to the Amazon, which has served to preserve approximately 780 million trees.

The basketball teams of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo rely on resources from their sponsors – BRB, MOSS, TIM, AmBev, Rede D'or, IRB Brasil RE, CSN, Brasil Plural, EY – via the Federal Incentive Law/Ministry of Sports (IR) and State Incentive Law/State Secretariat of Sports, Leisure and Youth (Seelje) of Rio de Janeiro, in addition to support from the Brazilian Club Committee (CBC).
