FlaBasquete held its first training session of the season this Monday (16), at the Hélio Maurício gymnasium, in Gávea. Current champion of Carioca, Super 8, Champions League and NBB, Flamengo begins preparations aiming at new challenges.

The Pride of the Nation's first match will be the State Championship, scheduled for the end of September. The new season also features the NBB, the Champions League, and the Intercontinental Cup.

Coach Gustavo de Conti praised the athletes' professionalism during their return.

"I'm very happy with the way they performed. All the players are very experienced and have already been doing some kind of work. I don't think the fitness issue will be a problem, now it's time to get everyone on the same page and get the season off to a good start," he said.

Idol Olivinha also spoke about the beginning of the work.

"I'm very happy to be here for another year, another season. The team is very well put together, with very good quality. We're already motivated, we know the responsibility, and we're going to go after it. We're going to work hard, the season is long, and we're going to achieve all of our goals," he commented.

The team is still waiting for the presentation of the two new North American reinforcements, forward Bradon Robinson and shooting guard Dar Tucker.
