Basketball players from Argentina and Angola will train at Flamengo's headquarters for friendlies against Brazil. This Wednesday (July 30.07), at 10 a.m., the Angolans will train at the Club. On Thursday (July 31.07), at 19 p.m., the Hélio Maurício Gymnasium will host the Argentine national team. This training session helps promote the World's Most Beloved as a major multi-sport powerhouse in the Americas. The friendlies are part of the team's preparations for the Basketball World Cup.

The matches will be played at Maracanãzinho. Brazil vs. Angola will be on Thursday at 20 p.m. The derby against Argentina, which features the red-and-black point guard Nicolas Laprovittola, will be on Saturday at 10 a.m., broadcast on Globo and SporTV. 

Gávea was chosen because it is suitable for hosting international training delegations. In addition to the Dutch national team at the World Cup, the venue will host the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) at the 2016 Olympic Games. In 2013, The NBA's Chicago Bulls and Washington Wizards also used the red-and-black facilities.

For the director of Olympic sports, Marcelo Vido, the arrival of international teams is an important gain for the red-black image, even with the need to improve the club's structure. 

"In basketball, all of this is recognition of the work done in recent years, winning important titles. With the American NBA teams, we will have greater exchanges with our youth teams, which in itself is a legacy for the club. With the North American committee, we will modernize the locker room and bathroom structures, which will be completed in September before the NBA teams' training sessions," he explained.
