For the past ten years, Flamengo has won every edition of the State Basketball Championship. Tonight, the red-and-blacks defend their title in a match against Macaé at 20 p.m., at their opponent's home ground. Having won the first match of the best-of-three final series, Flamengo will lift the trophy if they win tonight, eliminating the need for a third game.
The team led by José Neto is undefeated, winning all the games in the qualifying phase - Flamengo 92 x 48 Botafogo, Flamengo 89 x 85 Macaé, Flamengo 82 x 63 Macaé, Flamengo 74 x 55 Botafogo - and the first challenge of the decision, last week, by 71 to 64, which had Rafa Luz as the top scorer.
