FlaBasquete assistant coach Rodrigo Carlos is on an exchange program at the Summer League
Professional is in the United States watching the Summer League of the best basketball in the world

Last Friday (8), José Neto's assistant coach at FlaBasquete, Rodrigo Carlos, traveled to Las Vegas, in the United States, to follow the NBA Summer League. The professional takes advantage of the international exchange to exchange knowledge with teams from the United States.
"Due to the partnership between the NBA and the National Basketball League, Brazilian clubs were invited to Las Vegas to attend the Summer League. I'm here with Daniel Soares (NBA Brazil) and Paulo Bassul (LNB) watching games, talking to coaches and assistants, and conversing with members of the administration and marketing departments of the North American franchises," explained Rodrigo Carlos.
"So far we've had a great integration with the Toronto Raptors' assistant coach, Jama Mahlalela, who is acting as the team's coach in the Summer League. We watched his practice, which was in the same gym where the Milwaukee Bucks also trained. They did separate practices and then came together in a sort of team practice, a training game," Rodrigo concluded.
In addition to this action, Rodrigo also visited Impact Academy, a favorite spot for players to hone their skills during the summer.
"The Impact academy has a fantastic structure! Neto and Diego Falcão came here with the Under-18 National Team some time ago. Yesterday (Sunday) there was an NBA player training there too. It's normal for professional and college league players to come to Impact to train during the summer to improve their games," says Rodrigo, who is also following other summer tournaments, with players from Europe and college players who are seeking spots on NBA teams and around the world.
In addition to the exchange of knowledge, the Flabasquete coaching staff's exchange also aims to evaluate new players. "We are looking at new athletes, both for this season and for future seasons. We are trying to make the most of this experience," concludes Rodrigo.
Basketball even during the holidays
Taking advantage of his vacation trip to Orlando, André Guimarães, supervisor of the sport at Flamengo, also used his proximity to the Summer League to attend some training sessions and games.
"Here in Orlando, I attended Charlotte's and Patrick Ewing's training sessions, with Michael Jordan present. I also got to see Larry Bird at the Indiana Pacers' training session. In addition, I was at the University of Miami for a brief internship in Olympic sports," explains André.
