Overwhelming second quarter, FlaBasquete defeats Boca Jrs in BCLA debut with a show from the Nation

Captain Olivinha achieved a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds, and was also the game's leading scorer and rebounder. Brandon Robinson added 14 points; Mineiro and Yago each added 11.
The game
Flamengo took the lead, but the Argentines' shots began to fall and they turned the score around (10-14). With a three-pointer from Olivinha, who was very excited on the court – and infected the fans in the stands –, followed by a beautiful dunk from Faverani, Mengão remained very much in the game (15-16). The Mais Querido took the lead again with an offensive rebound and a basket from Faverani, with a minute left in the quarter (17-16), but Boca still scored before the clock expired (17-18).
In the second quarter, the Mais Querido team came out swinging. With a three-pointer from Olivinha, Gustavo De Conti's team took a nine-point lead within three minutes of play. With another shot from outside the perimeter, Balbi extended the lead to 30-18. The red-and-black team's dominance continued until halftime, with Flamengo leading 46-29. Olivinha was the red-and-black team's standout performer in the first half, with 14 points and six rebounds.
Faverani opened the scoring in the third quarter, which was more evenly matched. The fans chanted nonstop, and the Rubro-Negro were intense offensively, but Boca found space to close out the half. In the final period, great balls from Olivinha, Luke Martinez, and Rafael Mineiro lifted the crowd in the stands, who chanted nonstop and put on a show in the gymnasium. The finale couldn't have been any different: a great victory and great synergy between team and fans.
