Center Bábby is racing against time to be on the court for the NBB (New Basketball Brazil) semifinals. The player suffered a lower back strain in the first game of the quarterfinals, on April 24.04th, against Bauru, while celebrating a point. Since then, he has been out of action for the team. Flamengo debuts in the semifinals this Friday (May 06.05th), against Franca, at 21 pm, at HSBC Arena.

During training on Wednesday (04.05), Bábby played the ball for the first time since suffering the injury. The pivot is undergoing intensive treatment with physiotherapist Ricardo Machado, as well as acupuncture and chiropractic.

"I'm already much better and I hope to be able to at least be on the bench for the semifinals. I'm working really hard and doing intensive physical therapy," said Bábby. "It's very difficult to be out of the games. But I'll always be transmitting positive energy to the group," he added.
