Balbi and Filipovity reach a double-double and FlaBasquete beats Pato at home

The match at Maracanãzinho saw a good collective performance from the red-black team.

This Sunday morning (15) was a victory for the Pride of the Nation. Playing at Maracanãzinho, Flamengo faced Pato Basquete, grew after the break and counted on double-doubles from Filipovity and Balbi to win 84 to 71. The duel was valid for the second round of the New Basketball Brazil (NBB).

The game

The opponent opened up a lead, but the comeback soon came. After Gustavo De Conti called a timeout, Deodato and Filipovity hit their target and put FlaBasquete ahead. The Hungarian was the standout performer of the period, with eight points and four rebounds, alongside Balbi, with five assists. The Rubro-Negro won the first half 23-17, but Pato's comeback came in the second quarter, and the opponent nearly overturned the first-quarter score (15-22). The teams went into halftime separated by one point: 38-39.

Maique and Filipovity gave Flamengo a 9-0 lead in the first two minutes of the third quarter. Flamengo's play settled in during the period, with a faster and more engaging attack, and the lead reached 12 points, bringing victory ever closer. The final quarter was more evenly matched and ended tied (20-20), but with double-doubles from Filipovity and Franco Balbi, Flamengo secured the victory.

Today, the delegation continues its journey to the match against the Orlando Magic, in the United States, for the NBA preseason, on the 20th.
