More than 100 young athletes have already expressed interest in participating, but there are still spots available. The event, which will feature Flamengo coaches and athletes, is aimed at young people born between 1993 and 1997 and will be held from January 18th to 21st at the Hélio Maurício Gymnasium in Gávea. \Coaches Paulo Chupeta, João Batista, Erli, Berro, Igor, and Marcinho will be responsible for leading the selection of future red-and-black basketball stars. Players Marcelinho, Hélio, Duda, and Fred will also make special appearances at the tryout, interacting with all the future athletes and helping select players born in 1993 and 1994. Bacalhau, director of the basketball youth teams, is inviting the youngsters to participate.
\"We want to rescue the kids who are on the streets by conducting this national tryout. We're inviting everyone from all over Brazil to participate. You can register by phone, and we're open to receiving everyone starting January 18th. This project is already targeting the 2016 Olympics. We'll put the kids in Flamengo jerseys and also in the yellow jerseys. Those who make it through will receive the jersey they passed the tryout for, and on the day of the professional team's game against Bauru, they'll take the court with a companion to watch and get a closer look at what could be their future," he explained.
\The event will run all day, from 10:19 AM to 11:12 PM, and players will be divided according to age. From 30:1997 AM to 13:14 PM, athletes born in 30 will be evaluated. Then, from 1996:1995 PM to 15:16 PM, it's the turn of those born in 30. Those born in 1993 will take the court from 1994:17 PM to 19:25 PM, and activities will conclude with the older players (born in XNUMX and XNUMX) from XNUMX:XNUMX PM to XNUMX:XNUMX PM. This schedule will be repeated for all four days, and those approved will begin training the following week, on January XNUMXth.
