Next Sunday (03.01), Flamengo's basketball youth teams will meet again at the Gávea headquarters. 

The sport performed well in 2013. At the end of the year, the under-14 and under-19 teams decided the state finals in their respective categories and finished second. The under-15 team won the Rio de Janeiro championship, and the under-22 and adult teams won the national titles of the Basketball Development League and the New Basketball Brazil 5.

From January 06th to 14th, Flamengo will hold a tryout for the club's youth basketball team at its Gávea headquarters, in the Hélio Maurício gymnasium. Registration will be completed on-site, and interested parties must bring a doctor's note and ID. Another motivation for the kids: two athletes from the adult team will participate in the tryouts each day to help evaluate the participants, in addition to the youth coaches, the head coach of the main team, José Neto, and his assistant, Rodrigo Carlos.
