Flamengo's youth basketball teams remain strong in the State Championship. After a strong performance in their opening match, the boys from Gávea returned to victory in the second stage of the State Championship this weekend.
The under-17 team took to the court on Saturday (31.03) and defeated Jacarepaguá by 111 to 22. The top scorer of the match was Rubro-negro Alese Cesar with 22 points. On Sunday (01.04), they returned to play and beat Botafogo by 76 to 50, completing their third victory in the competition. The red-black team faces Macaé, on Thursday (05.04), at 16:10 pm, in Gávea, for the fourth round of the championship.
On Sunday (01.04), the youth (under-13) and children's (under-15) teams faced Botafogo and won by 62 to 39 and 69 to 54, respectively. The children's top scorer was Douglas Nascimento with 20 points and the youth team Thiago Daniel with 15 points. Flamengo returns to the court on Saturday (14.04), against Clube Central, in Gávea, at 11 am (under-13) and 12:30 pm (under-15).
