Basketball base wins two on the weekend
Children's and youth teams pass through Tijuca at the opponent's home

Two wins and two losses. That was the result of Flamengo's youth basketball team in this weekend's round of the State Championship. In matches against Tijuca, last Saturday (11.06), at the opponent's home, the children's team (under-15) won 67 x 45 and the mirim (under-13), 66 x 55. The infanto (under-17) team wasn't so lucky and was defeated 72 x 61. On Friday (10.06), the youth team (under-19) was defeated by Macaé 59 x 49.
In the children's match, the team opened a 16-point lead in the first quarter. Tijuca closed in the third quarter, but Flamengo maintained its focus and won the match. The game's top scorer was Douglas Rodrigues, with 25 points. The team returns to action on July 02.07nd, against Cabo Frio, at 12:30 pm, in Gávea.
The youth game was fiercely contested, and only at the end did the red-and-blacks manage to open up a lead, maintaining their unbeaten run in the championship. The top scorer was Bernardo Campos of the Gávea team, with 22 points. The next game will be against Vasco on July 16.07th at 14 p.m.
