Flamengo's under-19 basketball team defeated Vasco in both matches of the State Championship playoffs and advanced to the semifinals. In the first game, Flamengo defeated Vasco by a landslide 81-44, and in the second game, Flamengo outscored their opponents 65-36.

In the semifinals, the Gávea team will face the winner of the match between Botafogo and Clube Municipal. The black and white team leads the match 1-0 and the second game will be this Wednesday (August 29.08).

Gávea's other youth teams are also holding strong in the State Championship, winning all their matches against Vasco this weekend. In the under-13 division, Flamengo defeated their opponent 63-36 and is in first place with 24 points. In the under-15 division, they won 74-35, also maintaining their lead. The under-17 division scored 68-38 and moved up to second place with 29 points, one point behind leader Tijuca Tênis Clube.

The teams return to the field next Saturday (01.09), against Jéquia, in Gávea. The under-13s play at 11 am, the under-15s at 12:30 pm and the under-17s at 14 pm.
