The base team of the red-and-black basketball team took to the court for another round of the State Championship. In the under-13, 15, and 17 categories, the "Mais Querido" faced Vasco da Gama on a Saturday of classics in Gávea. The under-19 team began the quarterfinals of the competition with two matches against Municipal, and emerged victorious.
In the under-13 division, Flamengo put on a show and secured a commanding lead, finishing the match with a score of 47-29. In the under-15 division, Flamengo defeated the team from São Januário with a spectacular game winner, 39-38. The only setback of the weekend came in the under-17 division, which ended up losing 42-36.
The U-19 team secured their place in the State Championship semifinals. Facing Municipal, the first game at Gávea ended with a score of 86-53 for Mengão. In the return match, "Mais Querido" confirmed their favoritism, winning 82-55 and securing a spot in the semifinals.
Now the under-13, under-15, and under-17 categories return to the courts to face Botafogo in the final round of the championship. The matches will be held at General Severiano. The under-19 teams will also face Botafogo, but in a semifinal match.
