The Rubro-Negro basketball base entered action this weekend for the State Championship. The youth team (under-13) defeated Central 54-33 on Sunday (May 29.05) in Niterói. On Saturday (May 28.05), the under-17 team crushed Iguaçu 80-49 at the Hélio Maurício gymnasium in Gávea, and remains the main contender for the title. On the same day, the under-15 team was not so lucky and lost to Central 66-48 at the opponent's home ground.

Next Saturday, the youth, children's and infant teams return to the court against Fluminense, in Gávea, at 11 am, 12:30 pm and 14 pm respectively.
