Team crushes Três Rios, 77 to 41, in Gávea

The red-black children's basketball team beat Três Rios, 77 to 41, last Saturday (25.06), at the Hélio Maurício gymnasium, in Gávea, and remains firm in the dispute for the State Championship title.
Flamengo took the lead in the first quarter and held onto it until the end. Flamengo coach Ígor Meletti was pleased with his team's victory. He said the opponent was well-prepared and tried to make things difficult, but Flamengo overcame the difficulties.
"The Três Rios team is strong, and we were expecting a tough game. We took a lead in the first quarter, and that helped us secure another victory," said the coach.
The children's team's next match in the State Championship will be on Saturday (02.07), at 12:30 pm, against Cabo-Frio, at the Hélio Maurício Gymnasium, in Gávea.
