New Jersey-born American Derrick Caracter is the newest addition to Flamengo's basketball team. The center, who previously played for the Los Angeles Lakers, arrives tomorrow to help Flamengo in the Club World Cup against Maccabi Tel Aviv of Israel and in matches against NBA teams.

Caracter is 26 years old and plays power forward or center. In addition to his time in the NBA, he has also played in Puerto Rico, Israel, and Lithuania. He will wear the number 45.
