The youth team secures its place in the final of the 20th South American Meeting
By Francisco Freire - inFlamengo's pioneering spirit in sports is evident from an early stage, with the club's strength in the youth ranks of a wide variety of sports. In basketball, where Flamengo is the current four-time national champion, this success also begins early.
Flamengo's under-13 team secured its place this Thursday (21) in the final of the 20th South American Basketball Meeting. With an undefeated campaign, Mais Querido beat A. Cabral in the gold bracket semifinal by 41 to 27. Thus, they secured a place in the final, where they will face APVE Londrina, this Friday (22), at 18 pm.
The meeting will also feature Flamengo in the under-14 and under-15 categories. Both teams will debut in the competition this Sunday (24).
The youth basketball teams of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo rely on resources from their sponsors – CSN (Companhia Siderúrgica Nacional), Banco Bonsucesso and Brasil Brokers – via the Federal Incentive Law/Ministry of Sports (IR), in addition to support from the Brazilian Confederation of Clubs (CBC) resulting from the decentralization of resources originating from the Pelé Law.
