Red-black basketball team close to another decision in the under-17 category
Undefeated, the team will play in the semifinals of the Italva National Tournament, this Friday (27.07)

After winning the Minas-Brasília Under-17 Basketball Cup undefeated, Flamengo is very close to deciding another title in the category. This Friday (July 27.07), the team faces Botafogo, at 19 pm, in the semifinals of the I National Tournament of Italva (RJ). The winner guarantees a place in the final, on Saturday (July 28.07).
Flamengo is undefeated in the competition. In its debut, it defeated Flu-Italva 88-54, with 18 points from Victor Souza. It then defeated Rio das Ostras 74-45; Osasco 92-24; and Viva Vida ES 85-25. Junio Duval topped the scoring charts for the latter two, with 23 and 28 points, respectively. In the quarterfinals, Flamengo defeated Juiz de Fora MG 96-27, with Junio Duval again standing out with 23 points.
"Flamengo is showing the same determination in Italva as it did in Brasília. Thanks to the work of our physical trainer, Ricardo Friaça, the athletes are enduring the daily marathon of games and continue to play high-level basketball," said coach Leonardo Bruno.
"This competition is being very important in our preparation for next season, as we are strengthening ourselves as a group," added Junio Duval.
The red-black team is made up of: Lucas Martins, Winderson Coelho, Junio Duval, Gabriel Jonathan, Henrique Machado, Douglas Nascimento, Victor Souza, Fernando Nogueira, Pedro Santos, Matheus Perretti, Vitor Amorim and Matheus Santos.
