This Thursday (January 02.01nd), the professional basketball team returned to training at the Gávea headquarters. The team is back in training for the upcoming matches of the Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB). Coach José Neto was pleased with the players' return.
"The athletes returned in good shape; it was a necessary period for rest, especially for the boys who were also in the under-22 team. This week will be a good training period; we will be able to train calmly. Starting next week, some NBB games will be brought forward because of the Liga das Américas, and then the pace will be tough for the players, especially since we will be using the starters in both competitions," he stated.
The first game of 2014 will be on the 07th, against Macaé, at the Gávea social headquarters, at 20 pm.
Gymnastics has also returned to training.
Flamengo's main gymnastics team also returned to training this Thursday. The girls had an excellent performance in 2013. Among their achievements are gold medals at the South American Adult and Youth Championships and at the Gymnasiade, in addition to the Brazilian championship in the Adult and Youth categories.
