The youth teams once again show their quality

Flamengo basketball has proven to be the pride of the nation, not only in the professional divisions but also in other categories. Last Sunday (November 16.11), the under-12 boys faced Vasco da Gama for the State Open Tournament title. Despite the quality of their opponents, the Flamengo players entered the tournament confident and motivated to win, and they did. Managing the match well and imposing their own rhythm, Flamengo took the title with a score of 50 to 31.

The team, which went undefeated in the championship, had Luiz Henrique, João Victor, and Marcelo Lisboa as its standout players. "We have a very good team. We played great games throughout the championship. In the final, we played our game and fully deserved the victory," said the team's coach, Nelson Mourão.

Sub-13
This Monday (November 17.11), the under-13s will play the second and decisive match of the State Championship final, also against Vasco. Having won the first game by a close 63-58, Flamengo's players will head to São Januário seeking another victory. Despite Magno Alves and Igor Gabriel's excellent form, the Flamengo coach guarantees that the title will come with strong performances from the entire squad. "We have some players in good form, but we have 12 excellent players. These same athletes were champions last year in the under-XNUMXs and, without a doubt, they are an immensely successful generation," concluded Nelson.

The main squad of Orgulho da Nação will take to the court at Arena VIVO, next Tuesday (18.11), at 20 pm, against the Minas team, in Belo Horizonte. Flamengo's players will be looking for their fourth consecutive victory, in four games, to retake the championship lead in the capital of Minas Gerais.
