Flamengo's under-13 basketball team is the South American champion. The victory came at the tournament held in Novo Hamburgo, Rio Grande do Sul, with a victory over Londrina in the final.

With a good start to the match, the red-black boys took the lead in the first quarter, but in the second half of the game Londrina took better advantage of their opportunities and opened up a 12-point lead.

By better positioning the defense, Flamengo balanced the actions in the third quarter, reduced the advantage to 10 points and entered the final quarter of the match with a lively lead.

Led by Nelson Mourão and based on overcoming, scoring a lot and pressing in attack, the Mengão boys set the pace of champions, turned the match around and closed the game 41x37.
