The red-and-black basketball team secured another victory in the New Basketball Brazil (NBB) tournament and remains in the lead. Controlling the game, they defeated Limeira in São Paulo 80-75. This Saturday's 26th victory came thanks to a stellar performance by Benite, who topped the scoreboard with 20 points.

"The team deserves congratulations. With this victory, we've shown that our bad form is in the past," said the point guard, who also had four assists in the match.

Besides Benite, the team's other standout performer was Caio Torres, who had ten rebounds (six defensive). For coach José Neto, the improved marking was crucial.

"The most important thing is that we achieved this victory through defense. Playing against a team that scores a lot and only conceding 75 points is something to be highlighted."

Flamengo returns to Rio de Janeiro to face Palmeiras, at Tijuca Tennis Club, next Thursday.

"The championship lasts about 7 months. It's practically impossible to achieve excellence all the time. Flamengo showed that they're back on the rise," said point guard Duda.
