Like much of the Flamengo squad, Benite has more titles in his career than many clubs. The athlete is a world champion, a NBB champion, a League of the Americas champion, and a state champion with Flamengo, and now he has another challenge: representing Brazil at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto. The shooting guard was called up in June, alongside Olivinha, a pivot who is also part of the red-black squad.

Brazil is in Group A and opens against Puerto Rico on July 21st. Next, the Brazilians face Venezuela (July 22.07nd) and the United States (July 23.07rd). Group B consists of Argentina, Canada, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic. According to the competition rules, in the first phase, the teams play each other in a single round robin within their respective groups. The top two teams in each group qualify for the semifinals, using the Olympic crossover system. The winners decide the title, while the losers compete for the bronze medal.
