A muscle strain in the back of his right thigh forced Benite out of the final of the latest edition of the New Basketball Brazil tournament. Almost two months after suffering the injury, the point guard has recovered and is ready to report to the Brazilian national team in São Paulo at 18 p.m. this Thursday (July 18.07), preparing for the Copa América in Venezuela. Forward Marquinhos was also called up, and coach José Neto will be one of the assistants to Rubem Magnano, Brazil's coach.

"I'm 100% recovered. During the holidays, I was treating the injury, doing physiotherapy and recovering in the gym in two shifts for a month. I was really preparing my leg so that it would be 100%. I'm very happy to be presenting myself fully recovered," said Benite.

Before the Copa América, which will be held from August 30th to September 11th, the three red-blacks will represent the Brazilian National Team on five occasions: Super 4 Tournament, in Argentina; the Challenge Game against Uruguay, in São Carlos (SP); the Super 4 Tournament, in Anápolis (GO); the Challenge Game against Mexico, in Osasco (SP); and the Tuto Marchand Cup, in San Juan (Puerto Rico).

"Expectations are very high for this period with the national team. I'm very happy to have been called up again. It's always good to be part of a team that competes for titles. Today, Brazil is in a very good moment and we're thinking about nothing else but winning the Copa América. That's everyone's focus," said Benite.
