Benite stands out in Brazil's victory over Uruguay
Flamengo's point guard finishes another match as Brazil's top scorer

Vitor Benite was the Brazilian team's top scorer in their 83-69 friendly victory over Uruguay last night in São Carlos, São Paulo. In addition to scoring 16 points, the point guard grabbed a rebound and added an assist. This was the athlete's second consecutive strong performance. In the Super 4 Tournament final, played last Sunday (August 04.08), the red-and-black player was one of Brazil's two top scorers.
"I'm very happy. Not just for myself, but also for what the team has been doing. My performance is a result of the team's collective effort, which helps me on the court. This makes me happier, and I hope to continue contributing, whether with points or scoring, so that the Brazilian team continues to improve," said the Flamengo player. The player also received praise from José Neto, his coach at Mais Querido.
"He's doing well and playing an important role on the team. He plays with a lot of confidence and is having a good season. He's fit in very well with the way the Brazilian national team is playing," he said. For the national team, the red-and-black coach serves as assistant coach to Rubem Magnano, the national team's manager.
In the victory over Uruguay, in addition to Vitor Benite and José Neto, the club's fitness coach, Diego Falcão, was also present. Marquinhos did not take to the court, as he is still recovering from the arthroscopy performed on his left knee in July. Cristiano Felício was also absent from the game. Since he was part of the Super 4 title last weekend, the coaching staff chose to rest him and observe other players in his position.
For the Argentine national team, the new Flamengo player, Nicolás Laprovittola, was in action on Wednesday (07.08).
