One of Flamengo's key additions to the basketball team, American Kyle Lamonte couldn't hide his joy at signing with the club. Officially introduced this Monday (August 23.08) at the Rogério Steinberg Auditorium, he thanked the board and spoke about his first days playing for the Gávea team. Eager to debut and pleased with what he's experienced so far, he expects many victories and achievements with the club.

The player arrived in Gávea accompanied by his family, sporting the traditional American style of sunglasses and a flat-brimmed cap, and left the press conference wearing Flamengo's number 11 jersey and a red-and-black cap. Kyle Jr. also left with a Flamengo gift: a heart-shaped pillow, to help him begin to love the club his father will play for from a young age.

"I'm grateful to everyone at the club for bringing me in and treating me and my family so well. I'm happy, looking forward to this opportunity, and I've really enjoyed the team so far. The first few days have been great, and it's going to be great to play here and fight for championships," said Lamonte.

The American believes he will quickly gel with his teammates. Pleased with his initial impressions of the group and the coaching staff, the player believes fans can expect good results this season.

"The group welcomed me well, the players, Chupeta, everything seems great and I'm very excited to play for this club. I'll try to help as much as possible," he added.
