There's a star player arriving at FlaBasquete! The Rubro-Negro has signed American winger Brandon Robinson for the 2021/2022 season. The athlete was a standout player for Quimsa-ARG, the team that faced Mais Querido in the 2020 Champions League final.
"I'm happy to sign with Flamengo. The club is historic, and I'm thrilled they chose me to wear this jersey. I'm ready!" celebrated Robinson, who also shared his hopes for the Pride of the Nation. "We expect a season full of excitement, but a tough one, as everyone will be trying to beat our team, which has defended so many titles," he added.
Knowing that he will be playing alongside great athletes, the winger said he is eager to begin working with his new teammates and coach Gustavo De Conti.
"I can't wait to train with them. My teammates have already experienced great moments at Flamengo, and I'm happy to be a part of it now. Olivinha, for example, is a great player. I've watched him and played against him on the court, and I love what he represents, the energy with which he plays and motivates the team. Now, I'm going to get to know my coach, Gustavo, better, and I believe we'll work very well together. He's already spoken to me and told me he's available to help with whatever I need. That made me feel very welcome. I know I'll have all the support I need to adapt to this new phase," he concluded.
Before joining Argentina, Robinson played for teams in Canada, Mexico, Chile, and China, winning individual awards and national championships. Now, the winger will defend the Sacred Mantle in pursuit of the trophies up for grabs this season: the Campeonato Carioca, Super 8, Champions League, NBB, and, of course, the FIBA Club World Cup in February.
