Winger Marquinhos, coach José Neto and fitness coach Diego Falcão return to the Arena Carioca 1 court this Monday (15) for a crucial match against Nigeria. The ball goes up at 14:15 pm and only a victory - combined with a subsequent defeat for Spain - will give Brazil classification.
Last Saturday (13), the National Team lost in the second overtime to Argentina by 117 to 107 (85 to 85 in normal time and 95 to 95 in the first overtime), in the fourth and penultimate round of group B. With this result and Spain's victory over Lithuania, Brazil needs to beat Nigeria this afternoon and hope for a defeat by the Spanish against Argentina at 19 pm: this way, they would guarantee fourth place and a place in the next phase. In case of a victory for Spain, Brazil is eliminated from the competition.
Olivinha, a multi-champion power forward for FlaBasquete, will be cheering on his teammates from 13:30 pm this Monday (15), at Casa Flamengo, in the Salão Nobre of the Gávea social headquarters. Today, club members and children up to 12 years old do not pay entry, fan members pay R$15 and everyone else pays R$30. Click here and check out Casa Flamengo's full schedule.
The Clube de Regatas do Flamengo adult basketball team relies on direct funding from its sponsor Estácio, in addition to investments from Tim via the State Sports Incentive Law/State Secretariat for Sports, Leisure and Youth (ICMS).
