In recent years, Flamengo has steadily grown as a force in Brazilian basketball. This is reflected in the club's continued presence on the national team. This weekend, Brazil took to the court for the Desafio Super BRA, a preparatory tournament for the Copa América, in Brasília, and there was a red-black team on the court.

On Saturday (08/08), Brazil debuted in the triangular against Uruguay. In a fiercely contested game, the national team won 83-81. Rafa Luz, the newest addition to the Pride of the Nation, scored 10 points, grabbed three rebounds, and provided two assists. JP Batista, also new to the Flamengo squad, scored eight points. In addition, the NBB Rebounding King, Olivinha, lived up to his reputation, grabbing five rebounds and scoring five points. The experienced Marquinhos also performed well, finishing second in the match with 14 points.

With the victory, Brazil decided the tournament against Argentina. This Sunday (August 09.08), the two rivals took to the court and played another thrilling match. The Argentines took the lead in the first half. Brazil fought back in the second quarter, but Argentina regained the lead in the third. In the final quarter, Brazil took the decisive step, winning 67-61 and taking the title. Once again, the red-and-blacks were instrumental in the victory. Rafa Luz and JP Batista scored 11 and 10 points, respectively. The latter was the leading rebounder of the match, alongside Argentina's Luis Scola, with 12 rebounds. Marquinhos also scored six points, and Olivinha grabbed five rebounds.

The national team's next challenge is the Four Nations Tournament in Buenos Aires, from August 14th to 15th. The team continues preparing for the Copa América, which takes place in Mexico from August 31st to September 12th.
