On the morning of this Friday (11/01) Clube de Regatas do Flamengo agreed to sign winger Bruno Zanotti, the new reinforcement for Basquete Rubro-Negro. The player, a starter for the Paraguayan National Team and with experience in Europe and Argentina, arrives at Gávea with the objective of being part of the team and meeting the needs of coach José Neto on the court. 

"Bruno is an experienced player who, in addition to playing for the Paraguayan national team and several South American and pre-Olympic tournaments, has also participated in pre-World Cups. This all contributes greatly to our group. We needed a player to fill our gaps in the 3 and 4 positions, and Bruno is that guy. Contrary to what many think, he's not coming to replace Marcelinho. He's coming to add value and help the group," says Neto.

After passing the physical tests conducted this morning at Flamengo's headquarters in Gávea, Bruno signed a fixed-term employment contract until June 05, 2013. Depending on the forward's performance in upcoming games, Flamengo has the option to extend this contract. Bruno will undergo a clinical evaluation later today by the basketball team's physician, Dr. Cláudio Cardone. 

"I'm very happy to arrive here. I know this is a team that started the season with 9 wins, so it's a very strong team. I'll try to do everything the coach asks of me and help Flamengo achieve more victories," says Bruno.

"I arrived here in Brazil yesterday and was treated very well by everyone. Flamengo is a very important institution in the country and I came to defend its colors and the Rubro-Negro shield," adds the Paraguayan.
