Every game, a decision
Taking one step at a time, coach José Neto relies on teamwork to overcome Bauru in the NBB quarterfinals
By Communication - Official Club Website - inOn Monday night (05.05), at 19 pm, Flamengo takes to the court for the fourth game of the best-of-five series against Bauru, in the NBB quarterfinals. If they win, the team advances to the semifinals, without the need for a fifth game. For today's match, coach José Neto is calling for a winning attitude to overcome the opponent, who is playing at home.
"What worries me is the team's attitude in each game. We did very well on Saturday, especially in the second half. We know that on the other side is a very qualified team that wants the same thing as us. So, we have to be alert throughout the 40 minutes to achieve our goals," he said.
As the leader of a multi-talented group, Neto praises the team's collective quality, which combines the individual capabilities of each athlete.
"I don't believe there's any other way we can win this match other than collectively. Today (Saturday), Marcelinho, who scored 31 points in the last game, only scored two, but we won by a good margin again. This is a great quality of our team and we always prepare to play as a group," he praised.
José Neto also believes that each match in the series is a new story and, therefore, previous results cannot influence the team's stance on the court, whether in the event of a victory or in the event of a defeat.
"In a playoff series, each game has its own story. We don't bring an advantage or a disadvantage into the next game, and we have a team that is very aware of this, always striving for victory. I believe we're managing to play well, executing good defense and a good collective attack," he concluded.
The fourth game of the series between Flamengo and Bauru starts at 19 pm, broadcast on the Sportv channel.
