2014 LDA champion, FlaBasquete goes in search of a second title
Pride of the Nation debuts in LDA 2016 this Friday (28) against GE Comodoro (ARG)
By Communication - Official Club Website - inFlaBasquete, current leader of the New Basketball Brazil (NBB) with 15 wins in 18 games, takes a break from the national competition and begins the journey to seek the second championship of the League of the Americas (LDA). Champion of the biggest basketball competition on the continent in 2014, the red-black team debuts next Friday (29), against the Argentine team GE Comodoro, at 21:15 pm (Brasília time), in Pamaná – group C headquarters in the first phase.
Known as the Pride of the Nation, FlaBasquete lives up to the affection it receives. With a golden season in 2014, the team conquered the world. In addition to the NBB, the Mais Querido won the Carioca, the League of the Americas, and the World Cup. International recognition was crowned by the pioneering achievement of a Brazilian team competing in a preseason tournament in the NBA (National Basketball Association) – the sport's largest governing body.
Understand the competition format:
1st Phase: Qualifying Group Stage
All against all within their respective groups. The top two finishers in each group will qualify for the next stage.
2nd Phase: Quarterfinals
The eight teams will be divided into two groups of four teams each, called groups "E" and "F." Two quadrangulars will be held and the top two teams from each quadrangular will advance to the next phase.
3rd Phase: Semifinal Stage
1st of group "E" x 2nd of group "F"
1st of group "F" x 2nd of group "E"
4th Phase: Final Four
The winners of the semifinal stage compete for the League of the Americas title and the losers of the semifinal stage compete for the bronze medal.
