Voted the author of the best dunk in the Americas in the last decade, the red-black Rafael Mineiro said goodbye to the FIBA ​​competition this Thursday (25). After winning the continental category, the pivot ended up surpassed by the Iranian Arsalan Kazemi, first place in Asia and Oceania, who qualified for the decision with 55% of the votes. 

"I'd like to thank everyone for voting for the dunk of the decade! I was so happy to have made it to the semifinals," Mineiro commented in a post on his social media.

The country's sole representative for the FIBA ​​award, the red-and-black player entered the race with a play while playing for the Brazilian national team at the 2015 Copa América in Mexico. In the first round of the competition, he defeated American Jaylen Brown, a forward for the NBA franchise Boston Celtics, with 56% of the vote. Colombian Braian Angola was eliminated in the second round, with 43%, and in the continental final, Mineiro defeated Mexican Juan Toscano, with 52% of the vote.
