The red-and-black youth teams won again in the Rio de Janeiro Basketball Championship last week. Playing at home, the under-13, under-14, under-15, and under-17 teams came out on top. The only loss came to the under-17 team, which lost by just one point at the Gávea gymnasium.

Playing at home on May 17th, the under-14 team came away with a great victory by 59 to 38 against Tijuca Tênis Clube. Against the same team, the under-19 team fought until the end, but ended up losing by 67 to 66. The two teams still face Jequiá ABIG this Friday (26).

In the last round of the first stage of Carioca, the under-14 and under-19 teams face Botafogo away from home on Wednesday (31).

Last Saturday (20), it was the turn of the under-13, under-15 and under-17 categories to enter the Gávea court and they all left with victories. Against Botafogo, Mais Querido won by 59 to 52, 86 to 47 and 72 to 63, respectively.

The teams will play again next month on June 3rd, facing Tijuca in all three categories. To conclude the first phase of the State Championship, Flamengo will face Vasco da Gama away on June 10th.
