In game 1 of the quarterfinals of the New Basketball Brazil (NBB), Flamengo beat Bauru 90-58 on Thursday night (27), at the Tijuca Tennis Club gym. The highlight of the match was Gabriel Jaú with 18 points and 14 rebounds. The two teams will face each other again on Monday (1), in São Paulo.

The game
The first two points of the game were scored by Hettsheimeir, who received an assist from Gui Deodato in the paint. Another good move from the red-and-black attack was Vildoza's assist for Gui Deodato to dunk. Then, Gabriel Jaú shot from the perimeter and the ball went in. Luke Martinez came off the bench to hit a beautiful three-pointer. Effectively attacking, especially on three-pointers, the Pride of the Nation led by ten points in the first quarter, 25-15.

Bauru came back stronger in the second period and managed to close the gap. On the court, Fischer provided a beautiful assist for Gabriel Jaú to sink two more points for the Rubro-Negro. Gui Deodato received the ball in a good position and hit another three-pointer. He currently leads the scoreboard with 12 points. Rafa Mineiro shot and hit his second three-pointer of the match. With that, FlaBasquete regained their advantage and went into halftime leading 45-32.

In the third quarter, Hettsheimeir received the ball on the perimeter and hit another three-pointer for Mengão. Argentine Vildoza also followed suit, converting another three-pointer. In the frontcourt, the Flamengo team passed the ball around, choosing the best shot. The game's top scorer, Gui Deodato, hit another three-pointer, further increasing Flamengo's lead. In the final stretch of the quarter, Gabriel Jaú hit two more three-pointers. The Pride of the Nation maintained its lead: 65-48.

In the final period, FlaBasquete maintained its strong pace and scoring offensively. Gabriel Jaú, who surged in the second half, surpassed Gui Deodato in points. He also led the way in rebounding (14). In the final minutes, the Pride of the Nation managed to open up an even bigger lead, winning Game 1 of the quarterfinals 90-58.
