After beating Minas Tênis Clube in Belo Horizonte last Tuesday (15.12) FlaBasquete will travel to the Federal District to face Brasília in one of the biggest games of the New Basketball Brazil (NBB), the so-called "Classic of Champions". The match will take place this Thursday (17.12), at 21 pm, at the Nilson Nelson gymnasium. 

After pivot Jerome Meyinsse reached the milestone of a thousand points converted in the NBB - playing only for Flamengo - winger Marquinhos is six defensive rebounds away from reaching 800 in the competition's historic milestone. The number 11 spoke about the possibility of achieving this feat in the next match.

"Really? I didn't know about that record... That's cool. I'll try to reach it in the next match against Brasília. Although the opponent is very strong and we have a history of very close matches, I'm sure the team is working every day to achieve the main goal, which is qualifying for the playoffs," he declared, surprised. 

The Mais Querido faced Minas Tênis Clube away from home, in Belo Horizonte, and secured a victory over their opponent by 81 to 74. The match decreed the end of a negative streak in the capital of Minas Gerais, where the Rubro-Negro had not won since the 2012/2013 season. Flamengo is in third place in the NBB, has a 70% success rate and continues to seek the top of the competition. 

Brasília is coming off a narrow victory over Macaé. The team from Brasília won 107-104 in overtime and sits sixth in the league with four wins in seven games.
