The first phase of the South American League reaches its final challenge this Thursday (5). FlaBasquete, which is already classified and fighting for invincibility, faces Cimarrones del Choco, the home team, in Quibdo, Colombia.
The two important victories in the first matches of the South American (76-75 and 91-57) guaranteed an early spot for the Mais Querido. Now the main objective is to achieve 100% and the top spot in the group.
Flamengo is in Group A alongside San Martin de Corrientes, Hebraica y Macabi, and Cimarrones del Choco. The top two teams in the group qualify for the second round, and the overall winner of the competition secures a spot in the 2018 Liga de las Américas.

With qualification secured, Flamengo aims to finish the first phase undefeated and in first place in Group A. With this in mind, coach José Neto assessed this Thursday's match.
"Today we have a match against the home team that will determine the group's top spot. They have made the most of their home advantage and secured early qualification for the second round. We know we will face a very physical, intense, and motivated team to achieve this historic feat. I'm confident we are growing day by day as a team. We are prepared to face these challenges and seek another victory in the competition," said Neto.
