The red-black basketball team travels to Espírito Santo, where they hope to play "at home" against Saldanha da Gama and Vila Velha

Few capitals outside of Rio de Janeiro have as many Flamengo fans as Vitória, Espírito Santo. And the crowd factor is an added boost for the Flamengo basketball team, which travels this Thursday to Espírito Santo, where it faces Vila Velha Cetaf (Friday) and Saldanha da Gama (Sunday).
"It's a real Maracanã atmosphere," confirms supervisor André Guimarães, describing the scene seen in Espírito Santo stadiums last season. "Flamengo fans buy tickets up to 15 days in advance," he adds.
For winger Duda, it feels like playing at home. "In the two years we played there, the stadiums were always packed, and it felt like we were playing at home. We never lost there. I hope it's the same this year because our goal is to finish first in the qualifying round."
Despite the advantage of playing with the home crowd, point guard Fred believes this factor serves to motivate opponents. "A lot of our fans, who live there, go there, and the players from the local teams end up getting involved in the rivalry," explains Flamengo's number 9, who scored eight points in Flamengo's victory over Paulistano on Tuesday (February 02).
The match against Vila Velha Cetaf will be this Friday at 19 p.m., broadcast on Sportv. On Sunday, Flamengo faces Saldanha da Gama at 11 a.m.
Cetaf Vila Velha will welcome the two-time national champions at the João Goulart Municipal Gymnasium, known as Tartarugão (Rua Itaiaba, s/n, Coqueiral de Itaparica, in Vila Velha).
Saldanha da Gama plays its games at the Jones dos Santos Neves Gymnasium - DED (Cel. Schwab Filho Street, S/N – Bento Ferreira, in Vitória).
