In another game at Maracanãzinho, FlaBasquete defeated Brasília 92-55, on Thursday night (16), for NBB 2023/24. Once again, Hungarian Filipovity was the highlight of the match with 26 points. With five consecutive victories, Orgulho da Nação ends a sequence of matches in Rio de Janeiro.

The match had barely begun when Didi appeared unmarked in the dead zone to convert a three-pointer for Orgulho da Nação. Soon after, Filipovity received the ball in a good position and also scored a three-pointer. The game was evenly matched, and Brasília, when they went on the attack, also managed to score. The standout performer of the opening period, Filipovity hit another shot from the perimeter and then hit two free throws. With an eight-point lead, FlaBasquete closed the first period leading 25-17.

2st Bedroom
In a well-worked, hand-to-hand play, Filipovity drove into the paint, hit a layup, and was even fouled, converting the bonus free throw. Gui Deodato, on a similar play, entered the paint and added two more points for Mengão. Franco Balbi received the ball from the perimeter and nailed another three to increase the red-and-black lead. Well into the second period, Didi scored five consecutive points with a three-pointer and a double. As the clock expired, Balbi converted another three points for Orgulho da Nação, who went into halftime with a 20-point lead: 48-28.

In the third quarter, Brasília tried to mount a comeback, but FlaBasquete quickly regained control. Didi delivered a beautiful pass to Filipovity, who scored on a layup inside the paint. Balbi drove the play to the perimeter and provided the assist for Maique to score two more. Loku Cuello swayed in front of the defense and converted a three-pointer, further increasing the lead. Following this, Cuello and Maique doubled up on three-pointers. The Red-Blacks maintained their momentum and remained dominant in the match: 74-43.

4st Bedroom
In the final period, Orgulho da Nação continued to dominate the action and didn't let the pace drop. Coach Gustavinho brought on youngsters Matheus Leoni and Caio Brandão to boost the game's rhythm and maintain the team's intensity. With a consistent performance, FlaBasquete left the court with another victory in the NBB: 92-55.
